Can you catch diseases (hsv) by using someone elses chapstick or lipgloss? What if you clean the tip before?

Can you catch diseases (such as herpes simplex virus) by using someone elses chapstick or lipgloss? Does it help if you clean the tip before use?Can you catch diseases (hsv) by using someone elses chapstick or lipgloss? What if you clean the tip before?
of course you can. cleaning the tip may help but it is just a better idea to use your own. it is not worth the riskCan you catch diseases (hsv) by using someone elses chapstick or lipgloss? What if you clean the tip before?
To answer your first question... yes, you can contract it via using someone else's personal items just the same as you can by kissing them (yes, it may shock you or gross you out but that's exactly what you're doing when you share items that touch the mouth).

The answer to your second query depends... How, exactly, do you intend to ';clean'; the tip? The only way I would consider is to cut off (using a sterilized instrument) at least 1/8 of an inch from the tip of the item.
Yes you can. A lot of these diseases are contracted by body fluids, that is saliva, blood, urine sweat, etc.... Some people contract pink eye just by sharing mascara, eye liner, and other things. Try not to share personal item if possible, use your own and don't let other people use your things either. Be safe,it's better than being sorry later.
Ewww. Of course you can catch diseases from sharing a chapstick or lip gloss. It is essentially the same as kissing someone--germs are transferable. Do not share makeup of any sort, even with your very best friends. And cleaning the tip may help, but just ewwwww.
You should use your own Yes you can.
